Take the best line
The card posts one line so every play can be tracked and graded consistently. Your job is to bet the best available number on that same side.
Shop the side
The number posted on the card is the official number used on the Results page. That keeps the record transparent and makes every result easy to verify.
But sportsbooks will not always offer the exact same line.
If the card posts Eagles +3.5 and another book has +4 or +4.5, take the better number. A half-point can be the difference between a loss, a push, and a win.
Do not take a worse number than the card, and do not switch to the other side just because another book has moved the line.
This is also why it helps to keep money at multiple sportsbooks. Finding a better number does not help if your entire bankroll is sitting at the book offering the worst one.
Example
Eagles +3.5 was posted on the card. Other books were offering +4 and +4.5.
The final was Rams 24, Eagles 20.
Eagles +3.5 โ Loss Eagles +4 โ Push Eagles +4.5 โ Win
The Results page stays graded as a loss at +3.5 because that was the number posted on the card. Changing it to a push or win afterward would no longer match the original play.
But if +4 or +4.5 was available when you placed your bet, that was the better number to take.
That difference is exactly why line shopping matters.
Recap
